About

I'm a game developer, currently working on a variety of retro narrative-driven games. I created this site with the purpose of being a gateway into all of the things I make. I started out my game development journey on Roblox, where I would make small games from free templates I had modified (and TONS of free assets). Most of these games would have a very short lifespan, which would go something like this: I would spend a few hours or up to a day working on a game, during which I would drag in tons of random assets and scripts (somehow narrowly avoiding inserting a virus). I would then create some very rushed thumbnails and icons in MS Paint, add them to the game, and then upload the game to Roblox. My friends and I would then mess around in these games for a bit before we eventually got bored. I would then go on to repeat this cycle. After some time, I started to pick up some development skills and began to learn some of Roblox's language, Luau. Eventually, my skillset was sharp enough that I went on and created some games without the use of free assets and scripts, instead relying on my newfound knowledge. More time passed, and I grew tired of developing on Roblox as I wanted to create proper games. This led me to try out a variety of game engines, all the way from Clickteam Fusion to Unreal Engine 5. Whilst I would make some small things in each engine, eventually I stumbled my way into the Godot Engine. Fun fact: I was originally going to settle with Unity, but right as I was starting to learn the engine, they had their whole pricing shenanigans. Anyways, I spent time learning the Godot Engine and its language, GDScript. Since then, I've stuck with it and developed numerous projects. Many of which were never finished. But nonetheless, I still learnt some important skills. That brings us to the current day, where my primary development tools are Godot and a bit of Blender on the side. A list of all my relevant projects (ones that are somewhat or mostly finished) can be found on the homepage. I also regularly post updates, development progress, and news about the stuff I'm working on over on the posts page. With that, any extra inquiries you may have can be sent to aidan@nowaidan.dev.
